Third Party Laser Galvo Head Support through Polaris
The Polaris XY2-100 Module is a Mercury network device that has one or two DB25 connectors. Each connector supports XY scanner motors and a Z focus motor. The XY2-100, and XY2-100-E protocols are both supported. At the bottom right there is a connector for laser source control. Position setpoints are received from the Polaris UniverseOne™ controller via the Mercury communication ports at the top.

A collection of different third party laser Galvo heads can be used as an integral part of a Polaris UniverseOne motion control solution. Indeed, four or more third party Galvoscanners can be used in a single machine system.

The Polaris UniverseOne™ motion control system uses hardware interface modules to connect with 3rd-party Galvo-scanners from Scanlab, Raylase, Newson, Arges and others. The motion control, calibration and scan field correction are performed by the Polaris controller and set-points are delivered to the Galvo scanners via the Gbps Mercury™ network.
